In order to charge the starter battery from solar with an EBL99, you need to have a dual battery regulator. The Schaudt LR1218 (PWM model) or newer LRM1218 (MPPT model) will do this. If your regulator is a single battery model, or is connected direct to the habitation batteries, rather than via the EBL, you will need something like a Battery Master achieve the same result. I am not sure whether there will be any conflict between EBL, which charges the starter battery on hook-up, and the Battery Master. A&N Caravan services suggest there may be, but Eddie knows his product and I would take his advice on this. Do you by any chance already have a Schaudt solar regulator installed?

In that case you are going to need something like a Battery Master I think. As I said before, Eddie at Vanbitz is the expert on this product.
If you want another point of view vis-a-vis its use with the EBL, you could ask either A&N Caravan Services who mend Schaudt equipment, or Edgehill Motorhomes who supply exchange units. Alternatively, email Udo Lang at Schaudt and ask him (they also make something similar as shown in the picture).
