I have a 1995 Hymer 544 (LHD) and during a recent trip to Brittany found low leisure batteries. i used a multi meter and found the alternator is charging at 14.6 volts into the starter battery, but the two leisures are only getting 12.5ish. Therefore they are not getting back up to a good charge level.
I suspect the connection at the starter battery is not making good contact or could it be the split charge relay? My problem with the connections is that I have a NO-START keypad immobiliser and am concerned that disconnecting the starter will upset the code and hence unable to restart. My instructions are all in german. I do intend to email Hymer to see if they can help
Any ideas on the charging problem and immobilser please.
Thanks
Anthony

Hi Anthony

The volt drop in all probability is due to the size and length of the cable to the leisure battery ..do you know how long and what size it is ?
