Hi, My Elddis Sunseeker 25 is 2001 vintage & Peugeot based, I have a couple of queries regarding batteries & charging.
Setup is std apart from a 100w solar panel on roof charging leisure battery only.

Q1. Does the panel think it's OK to leave the van on EHU when not in use?
(During the winter I have a240v heater in van on frost setting)
Just wondered if the battery charger might overcharge???

Q2. Where is the battery charger located?

Q3. Thought about fitting a battery master type thingy to trickle power from
leisure battery to engine one, are they easy to fit?

Thank you

A good one will not overcharge. Check voltage settles at about 13.5V

Pass. Under floor, under front seat ???

Yes.

Thank you

having seen a few posts on here about oil fired rads catching fire I would not put heating on in the van and leave it unattended. In the event of a fire you would lose the lot and fire left on would probably invalidate your insurance. Best drain down and air everything, no heat no condensation. drier all round.:thumb:
A modern multisage charger (cheapo Lidl one is great) will switch to maintainence charge whe battery is fully charged so no overcharging. If you leave it on EHU when not in use.

I've discovered that the charger is intelligent & does go into a float mode, as it's only charging the leisure battery I have ordered a BCM12 from CAK, just hope it's easy to fit!
The heater in the van for winter is a non oil safety one that is clipped in place, been using them on boats for years.
