Bit of a story, but the wifes car, a daihatsu only has one remote for the central locking. So I have been trying to get a new one at a sensible price to no avail. So I took a gamble on a cheap learning remote from ebay. Basically this copies the code from the original. It didnt work, so there was £4.19 wasted, or so I thought
Anyway, I was bored and had a brainwave, why not try it on the motorhome remote, as like most it only came with one. It only worked, so for little more than £4 I now have an extra remote for the spare keys

Doesn't the remote change codes every time you use it?? Cant understand how that works without proper programming

you need the original working remote and put the 2 side by side. put the new remote in programming mode and then simultaneously press the button you want to copy and the corresponding button on new remote, then repeat for other buttons. takes seconds to program and works very well

Forgive the ignorance, how do i find out if my Autotrail Delware 2014 model is an X250? doesnt say on the reg documnet. this could be useful as a spare in case of emergencies.

As mine is a 64 plate i am assuming it is an X250, oh well for the sake of £4 i will give it a go.

Dashboard colour is another give away. the X250 I think is grey.. The later version is black and these came in production late 2014.

If you look at your VIN plate it will begin
    ---250.........
    If a 290
    ---290........

The X signifies the random three letters before the start of the numbers

That's interesting as my VIN starts ZFA250*******

The fiat app though says it is a x290

may be i am programming it wrong then although it seemed to take it ok.

Nope, mine is definitely a 290 but the chassis number starts with ZFA250, 2016 Model.

The ZFA290 chassis range models are from a model circa 1991 with 2.5 litre diesel
