Wow back out of the hills of the Midi Pyrenees and the Montagne Noire and into a land of technology and wifi.
Following the river Lot and the river Aveyron up river for much of the journey we had a wonderful trip but a bit hair raising at times especially if you let Tom Tom do the guiding.
The area has some wonderful aires, many of which are free, and well used especially by the French even in mid October.
The only problem for us and we should have known better coming from the Todmorden hills is that the hills do influence some adverse weather in fact at one stage we were 1200 metres up with lots of mist and just 8 degrees, reminded us why we cut and run from a life in Todmorden.
We are now at Beziers in brilliant sunshine ready for a run down into Spain and eventually Portugal.
We could well recommend this route to anyone but if you are prone to knocking white vans mirrors off or not competent at reversing then it may not be for you. The picture of the old mill is on a reasonably wide road compared with some we negotiated
