Anybody out there know where I can get my avtec tv repaired. The Tv works but the dvd player has given up the ghost, I am loath to replace the whole lot as its only 4 years old and cost £400. Anywhere in Surrey, Hampshire or Berkshire would be ideal.

Any ideas would be appreciated

Built in DVD players often fail - why not just buy a seperate DVD - Cheaper than a repair

Bought a 150w plug-in inverter - from about £10 on ebay, use mine for laptop, phone chargers........:thumb:

I was a little worried as the tv would also be running off the liesure battery as well as the inverter (we've got 150w inverter), probably for 2 and half hours of a film, not sure how much both would take, so only use when on electric. but thanks for the thought.

That would be the problem as we do wild camp sometimes, also I don't like paying for electric.

Thanks

Hi spongy,

I think these tv,s are fab and their repair service also excellent.

We have 2 and in our experience they use next to not in elec. ( don't know the figures ) as they can be on for hours with no probs.

I would definitely have it repaired,

Happy viewing

Re alternative TV make

Hi
Just for info really.
I note that 'caravan / m'home' TVs are expensive.
I have a Logik 19" HD ready Tv with integral DVD player (model No L19LDVB11) bought from Currys for £120. This is 12v and comes with a 240v transformer so you get the best of all worlds. Superb picture and sound. There is also a 22" at £150 ish.

Regards

Avtex are VERY good at getting their kit repaired and back out to you in next to no time :thumb:

As in most things in life, there is a down side.
I recently scrapped an 18 month old 18" Avtex which had an internal power supply problem.. The reason ? Quoted £159 for a repair.

As good as Avtex units are, I will never buy another I am afraid ( esp as the failure rate does seem particularly high )

Bought a 19" Cello all singing all dancing, with a 2 year warranty for £170 at Newark show
