AVIC-F920BT Compatability (1 Viewer)

So this 2011 Globecar Campscout we pick up next week is fitted with a Pioneer AVIC-F920BT. According to the Pioneer UK website the last firmware update was in 2010 and it looks like the support for this unit is minimal if anything.

While I'll probably ignore the navigation element - unless I can find map updates post 2010 - I'm keen to use the music functions. My question is does anyone use one of these with an iPhone 6s with a usb cable or Bluetooth? So far Google doesn't seem to know the answer .

Edit: same question iPod latest i.e. Last generation.

I did find out that any device can play via the aux port so that'll do.

Update. No idea why googly didn't find this before but updates are available for this unit:

Not cheap but apparently it also enables more iPhone features. We shall see.

I'm running the upgrade now. Along with the upgrade you get maps for life - all updates sent out automatically on a micro sd card. Post upgrade report to follow. One interesting thing is it states that the AVIC-F940BT user manual applies after the upgrade so it is a complete o/s replacement.

So that was simple. Looks a bit different - more like a modern satnav than before when it looked like the early ones you got from the likes of Nissan.

Now I'll see if it will take me somewhere
