So after working out how to get the tap off we discovered that the basin is held on to the surface with two bolts with wing nuts. One of the wing nuts is set hard against a wall and can't be turned. What kind of design is that? It looks like they attached the basin to the surface before fixing it to the unit. We can't think of a solution to get the basin off to send it to Derek Justice who makes a mould and then a new GRP basin. Any ideas?

Cut the wings off then use pliers. Replace using a normal (hex) nut. If it's made of a soft alloy use a Mole wrench to squeeze the wings until they either break off or the nut splits.

Too long lol
Try asking the Autotrail bunch on Facebook as one of them may have done it?

I'd do the same as suggested above
It would be horrible to find out that the basin is also glued on

Best of luck getting it sorted

@Mags52 can't help with removing your sink, but really interested in where you are getting the new GRP basin made.

Hi Sue, We're getting it from Derek Justice 01332 600825 Derek_justice@talk21.com
He made one for us on our previous motorhome. He's excellent and reasonable prices too. You send him your old basin and he makes a mould and makes a new one in GRP.

Did the visit to Auto trail a few years ago and at that time the furniture side was built and installed onto the floor before the outer walls were put on. Not surprised that some fixings are difficult to get at.
