I wonder if anyone can help, Ime sure that I have seen on a forum that you can tow an Automatic Jeep Wrangler on a A Frame, or is age setting in and I am dreaming.

Now I am fully aware of the for and against legal wise and I know you cannot normally tow an automatic.

Thanks

You should never tow an automatic vehicle, wheels down. Only in an emergency, and for as few miles as possible.

We tow our Jeep Grand Cherokee auto.

You need to make sure the transfer box (the 4wd selector knob) is in Neutral (N) and the gear selector is in Park. :thumb:

Hi, if you read the instruction book for the Wrangler (or get hold of a copy) it will tell you all about towing it, and probably with reference to a towing frame (A frame) behind a RV/motorhome.

towing auto jeep

Hi Takeaflight
I have towed a Jeep Liberty 2006 all over the usa and England with out any
trouble. All you have to do is
1 Depress brake pedal
2 shift trans into neutral
3 shift transfer lever into neutral
4 Start engine
5 Shift auto trans into drive
6 Release brake pedal-no movement
7 Shut engine off-key into unlocked off
8 Shift auto trans into park
9 Apply parking brake
10 Attach vehicle to R V
11 Release parking brake
If you have the owners manual it should tell you in that.

Hope this is of help
Regards to all
Bob
