Hi all, well we have just about had enough of the 12ele2000 head unit fitted in our 2013 Autotrail Apache.

Sd card doesn`t recognise track names, in phone mode it won`t upload contacts, sometimes doesn`t answer the phone, sometimes does, sometimes doesn`t even see the phone.
Then if it does answer it will cut the call and does something called "Linking".
After chatting with other owners the genral feeling is the unit is just a waste of time so can anyone recommend a replacement that will fit instead of this useless piece of crap.

Agreed cheap Chinese unbranded crap I'm now onto my third unit in 9 months and its also defective. The problem is finding a unit with built in freeview, nigh on impossible. The alternative I used in previous MH a Tracker was to fit a Blaupunkt New York 830 unit (very highly specced inc satnav ipod conn, reversing camera input, sd card etc) not cheap but a superb piece of kit but no freeview.

For freeview I bought a dual voltage (12v & 230vac) refurbed Phillips freeview box (pace) on fleabay (£15) very small unit. Fitted additional sockets etc in psu locker and mounted box in slot above.

Link here from another forum detailing the method should you decide to go this route in this case I used it for satellite but method exactly same for freeview as I later fitted one when my first media unit went breasts up.

This left the problem of having to leave locker door open to change channels this I solved with some research and bought a USB emitter receiver, here's my original post re fitting. A brilliant piece of kit.

My unit has the many faults try this one it looks ok :thumb:
