I'm not really sure that any bumper is child friendly is it.Not sure the metal bumper is child friendly - hope you don't hit one

You may find this interestingSome are. But not mine.
There are literally thousands and thousands of vehicles on British roads with everything from A bars to full on Bull bars. If there was any more danger to pedestrians other than being hit by a vehicle and ran over from them, they would be banned or at least failed in an MOT. I've not read of any and I've never met anyone who has either and I know hundreds of T4 and T5 owners. No doubt you would have read about the threat to lives from Diesel emissions too. After all there's a scrappy get scheme to start within months. You may find this interesting

Where did I say that they were not dangerous ? And anyway, they are incredibly soft steel they are also hollow and very very light. I'm guessing to conform with EU standards. Not being illegal doesn't make them dangerous to pedestrians.
Is that the Kid you refer to as most now seem to carry all the padding they need to survive a rhino charge. Some are softer and rounded to minimalise damage to pedestrians.

Perhaps a copy of the regulations will restore harmony to our hallowed forum.

Too many children are killed on our roads. It may be a joke to you, but others take it more seriouslyIs that the Kid you refer to as most now seem to carry all the padding they need to survive a rhino charge.

If it's a modern one it will chromed plastic for that very reasonNot sure the metal bumper is child friendly - hope you don't hit one
Another Reason for Brexit then ?If it's a modern one it will chromed plastic for that very reason
Laws on nudge/bull bars changed a few years ago and must break off on impact.
Negates their original purpose but that's European directives for you.

Additionally, from the same source.Perhaps a copy of the regulations will restore harmony to our hallowed forum. Although they don't actually say very much.
From experience of adults & children being knocked down, modern bull bars are deformable whereas the older ones from the 80s or so were rock hard & caused far greater injuries. Me personally I'd rather not be knocked down at all.

There are no plans for legislation to require bull bars that are already fitted to be removed.
However, since 25 May 2007, it has been an offence for bull bars that have not been approved as
compliant with those safety standards to be sold. Approved devices will carry an indelible ‘e’ mark
Thanks that does indeed clear it up and yes they do indeed Comply, I just didn't think anyone was interested in that point anyway.

My pleasure, your van looks beautiful & I can just imagine the amount of work that's gone into it, more pictures wouldn't go amiss & here's wishing you good health to enjoy the fruits of your labour.
akes no difference if the bar was there or not if it hit a child !Not sure the metal bumper is child friendly - hope you don't hit one
They have too. They all have an eu homologation sticker on them.Where did I say that they were not dangerous ? And anyway, they are incredibly soft steel they are also hollow and very very light. I'm guessing to conform with EU standards.

Not necessarily as stainless steel bull bars , side bars are all perfectly legal & carry EU homologation certificates & stickers. Removal of the sticker is the same as removing/having an illegible or no towbar certification plate in all EU states except the UK.If it's a modern one it will chromed plastic for that very reason
