So I'm waiting at the Eurotunnel terminal in Calais, get a knock at the door...
Turns out it's fellow Funster @stevec :)
We've not met before, Steve was just passing and noticed my Funster sticker. What a lovely gesture to stop and say hello.

We have only been members for about two years but have never met or seen another Funster motorhome. We display our sticker, proudly, and will certainly greet any that we meet.

MHF is a superb site, virtual meeting place, resource, centre for humour(?), and fount of information.(y)

I stopped for 2 nights at Canterbury Park and Ride. £6 for 2 nights with fresh, grey and black on site, plus return bus ride into the city. The place was busy, but not one other Funster. Plugged us at every opportunity I had while talking to the other owners :)

I remember how happy I was to have come across Fun and haven't regretted it one tiny bit :)

After all where else can you get advice from 1000's of other likeminded nutters, ops I mean enthusiasts and all for less than a trip to a costalot coffee shop for 2 coffees and a bun.....winner :dance2::drinks::hugs: :hi5:

I always check the windscreen of MH's to see if they have a sticker. Not seen another one yet though.
Oh, and if it was a funster at Rownhams yesterday morning, the looney with the Bernese Mountain Dog checking out your van was me! :D

In my experience most travellers are very friendly .. so why wait until you see a Funster badge .. ?

It could be a long wait..

At the end of the day, Funster or not, we are all but ships passing in the night .. stop and say Hi .. have made a lot of friends by just saying hello to a neighbour on an aire .. and many were not Brits...

Agree whole heartedly, and we do meet others.

But short of saying"Are you a Funster?" and sounding like someone from a very bad spy novel, the sticker is a good way to identify fellow members.

Of course.. a Fun badge can be useful.. I have one, and wasn't knocking it .. but i've spoken to many fellow travellers and at some point will ask if they are members of Fun or any other motorhome forum .. and been surprised how few are.. most don't use forums..

In all my travels since joining this forum in 2007 I've yet to bump into a Funster abroad..

I like to make the effort, on occasion some people are really glad to have a Brit to talk to. I think it was at Le Crotoy, I met a solo traveler who hadn't spoken to anyone British for a month o_O
Best one was at the municipal site in Epernay - a couple who liked a drink.. by tea time we were best friends, by 7.30pm they were asleep.
Next morning it was like we'd never met... by lunchtime they were back in 'the zone' and we could become friends all over again.
This pattern continued for the duration of our stay, and no they weren't Funsters

Very true.
In the past year I have had cause to speak to literally hundreds of motorhomers but have met only two who knew of MotorhomeFun, and one of those was yesterday! :)
If I had seen @maison 's sticker it would have been three :D

I've been talking to a motorhoming sidecar racer this week and thought it had to be that chap off here @Enword (how many can there be, really?), but no, never heard of us.

We've met loads of funsters on our travels.
Bump into them all the time in Morocco.
Pulled into the aire at Sanlucar de Barrameda and bumped into @Bentleybill
However we nearly always speak when we meet fellow Brits abroad and have encouraged quite a few to sign up to Fun.
Its got so we feel a bit like the Mormons or Jehovahs preaching the gospel according to St @Jim (his name be praised)

We met the young and hip owners of this beauty in Porto Covo, Portugal last year - both Portuguese but as usual spoke fluent english - we gave them a Funsters Card and encouraged them to join the madness - they gave us a lovely bottle of Portuguese red wine!
image (1).jpeg

The young and hip couple were nowhere in sight when I took this photo, but the very old and unhip Cliff wanted his photo taken next to a classic!
