Morning all, still looking for the right van but just wondered if you can get a better deal on a van in winter than in the summer months, my friend who is great at bartering has just bought a motorhome and the dealer wouldn't budge on the display price as they were selling so many . Is there normally room to barter with dealers?

Not long enough!
some euro vans do have an oven and even full cookers.
Also some have tables that fold, like mine does. so I have the room when I need it, but have fitted 9 folk in for a little drink and can seat 6 comfortably dining lol
The a class gives a great view, and also the 2 front seats are usually very comfy.
Your van is out there, just takes a bit of time to find it.

I took the enormous fixed table out of my Rapido. It appears to be made of steel and is enormously heavy as well. I've replaced it with a smaller table (there are only two of us) on a Desmo leg so it can be removed and shoved up in the drop down bed when not needed.

Been around!
We just bought our first MH and the dealer said he had reduced his prices for winter, and I haggled another £1000 off and gotit serviced, habitat check etc. Maybe it was spin but I do think they are reduced at this time.

Hi Diane.
We Have just purchased a bessacarr e745 from chelston motorhomes and are thrilled with it. Its the perfect layout for us and has everything on it. It was advertised for £25.995 but after some serious negotiation we purchased her for £22.750.
We have owned german and english motorhomes and both have their issues but the british vans are so more appelling to us as we love the none interupted lounging space, the bessacarr has it all for us, LOVE IT...

Apparently we kept hearing MH and caravans have become really popular and they are struggling to get stock

Good quality vans don't vary much in price with the season, what is more likely is the older ones are reduced in the winter as the prices tend to get hyped up in the summer when the market is buoyant.
As for buying RHD in mainland Europe as far as I am aware Hymer are the only manufacturer to supply RHD, our last van was RHD brought new in Belguim, then I saw the light and got a LHD.

I have done 950 miles in last two days looking at vans, birmingham to redruth cornwall 550miles , £500 discount on a £28,000 van & Birmingham to Canterbury 400 miles,£1000 discount on a £26,000 van.

I would'nt mind but the dealers now days seem to over price the vans before you start.:(:(

so to get a descent deal you need £1000s off. both dealers were busy selling vans, & both sold two while i was there!!!!!

Compared to the continent UK dealers work on far higher margins.

Still looking at the same models, I think it's going to be bessacarr 745 e but need to get my head round the pay load as I had never even thought about it! We do want to tow a small car and have bikes, plus solar panels, air con and general bits you would have in the van.

SWIFT then,,,eek. BUSBY:(:(:(
