13 Years, 20 years with a caravan
We were up to this year meet virgins & although up to joining this fantastic family of funsters had years of tugging trailer tents, caravans & finally into motorhoming met some very interesting people did not fancy rallys. We had the meet in Gweek not knowing what to expect but did not have to worry as the funsters who attended made it so enjoyable ( weather conditions helped ). As Viv said we all left as friends and looked forward to meeting up again. Our next meet was Malvern completely different but just as enjoyable. It all boils down to personal preferences but at the end of the day it is the people who attend that make the meet. We have made the decision to try and attend more meets next year as long as the liver can take it.
Nicki & Phil.

The bigger the meet the better for me...

Imagine turning up at a small meet and discovering the three or four others hate Fray Bentos pies, call football "Wendy Ball" or worse still are "Reds" and all love Country and Western music....

Hell on earth!

JJ

Perfect description of Malvern. Except they all hate FB pies.

We both find the large MHshow meets and medium meets like Saltfleet brilliant. Everyone is so genuinely friendly. Not been to any smaller meets up to now with MHF but have used CC Cls when there's nowhere else to go and find on those that there are some that dislike MHomers.

7 years campers before that
its nice that fun has grown big enough to support meets of all sizes i expect many years ago the caravan club had similar members discusions with people moaning that the meets were getting to big
we originally liked the big shows mainly for the included entertainment but find its less of a pull now as we can enjoy small meets just as much
the big meets are realy a group of small meets in the same field as everyone tends to gravitate towards people they already know

I think that the shows are too big and too impersonal IMO.
But only because Nikki and I end up stuck in someones van, stopped from leaving and then have alcohol forcefully poured down our throats ruining the whole weekend.

when we go to the smaller meets it's great, we get to forcefully pour alcohol down others throats and stop them from leaving.

no drinking for me this weekend and the continental meet though, off to the Dentist in a mo to see whats gone wrong with my treatment, looks like a nasty infection and im in agony.
Oh no! :( Really hope you feel better later! Am ridiculously excited about this weekend and was looking forward to you trying my crumble!

Our plans for next year:

Peterborough, Stratford, Malvern, Lincoln. 3 big shows plus one big rally, but due to the huge numbers, there are many that we simply don't meet enough, medics is a shame.

Smaller shows/meets to be confirmed but the French one looks good and we will be seeking out others to meet and socialise with as many as possible as the year develops. Much depends on the work situation

Don't forget the fix-it meet & MotorhomeFun Chef of the year. (y)

Don't know when they are.......... would not go to the Chef of the year as it is always better to give the others a chance. ;)

Now you and Dawn know which ones to avoid.......
