Applecross was the base for that program last year, where the chap tried to live as a crofter with his 2 pigs etc. Anyway, if you were going there, the obvious road would be through Loch Carron. However, I suspect it would be nigh on impossible to get a MH over those winding, climbing roads to drop down to the Applecross on the other side. If you want to go there, the best way would be through Sheildaig on the northern side.

Hi Ivy
The road you are refering to is called Bealach Na Ba, or the pass of cattle.
We drove over it in November 2009. It really isn't as bad as it looks.
Just one tight left hand bend as you get close to the summit.
Excellent area to stop and have a brew at the top with fantastic views.
The photo attached is of our van (29ft) just about to start the climb.

Hi Dave. What engine do you have? We went with a friend from the Black Isle, near Inverness, in his Peugeot 307 car. I know that our old Hymer 1.9 wouldn't have done it.

7 Years after 5 years with caravan.
Here are a few photos when we took our van (23 ft) over the pass. Slightly challenging - needed to keep concentration going, but not particularly scary. Small engined vans may struggle (ours is 2.8 JTD and about 145 BHP). Well worth the trip.

You need to view them in reverse 4, 3, 2, 1. Sorry about that.

Again we had no problem going over the top, and saw vehicles of all shapes and sizes on the road so you should have no problem. If you stay at Applecross just look for a dry bit in the field if possible, last year it got really churned up with so much rain especially around the electric points.
