Appal elder berry wine

    appal elder berry wine
    This is a very essay recipe
    if you got the time to pick and press your apples all the better
    if not this works very well with pure concentrated apple juice
    1kg of elder berry's
    1.5 kg of sugar Tate and lile cane sugar or brewing sugar 1.5kg
    depending on hydrometer Redding you may have to aide more sugar

    1 pick your elder berry's remove them from the vine do not wash them
    2 freeze them for a few days
    3 remove from freezer to de frost BLits in food processor
    4 put in a pan aide I pint of boiling water bring to the boil switch off allow to cool
    5 strain thug fine sieve in to a basin or bucket get as much juice out as possible
    6 poor in to a demi john aide the juice of one lemon
    7 aide the sugar
    8 top up with apple juice to shoulder of demi jon
    9 aide a robust read wine yeast
    place in warm place till fermentation subsides top up with apple juice
    allow to ferment for a few weeks
    10 wrack in to clean demi jon top up with apple juice
    allow to ferment out and clear wrack off sediment aide Camden tabs stabilizer
    levee till fully clear it should be a very rich read when held up to the light
    bottle levee at least six months and drink we are drinking some we made last year I had forgotten abut very nice it is to

    I love this wine so much I have started another five gallons it is one of the simplest to make
    my next Bach I will substitute pairs for appals

    just got a phone call :swear2: the lid blew off the fermenter bucket with a big bang hitting the roof in the kitchen oooop's put it on to tight

    just transferred from primary fermenter to 5 gallon secondary fermenter with air lock
    had a wee taste(y)

    Try elderberry and ginger wine using a high alcohol yeast like a French agar yeast. Ferment, clear and rack off, leave in bottles for a year!

    Will try that if I can find some elderberries. They don't grow round here :(

    I've just started making my Sloe Gin, and I'm doing some Elderberry Gin-doesn't take as long as Sloe Gin, quicker-ha,ha!

    another way to do it would be a kit and just ad the the ginger there are sum very good kits out there with a bit of adventure you will get sum very good results
