I will be doing two return trips this year, and wondered if anyone is interested in the other 3 return trips

Understand the cost is now £44 each way with a supplement of £11 each way for a motorhome.

Pm me if you're interested

Andrew

No, you only have to specify the vehicle at the time of booking the actual trip.

So you would only pay the supplement when you take your motorhome.

The only restriction I believe is that the named individual must be a member of the traveling party

I have just bought a frequent traveler ticket and there are some stipulations. To ship out the trip must be by from Folkestone after 1600 before 0600
from Calais , after midnight before 1400, You may do the trip in ANY vehicle for the £44 but the motorhome has a supplement of £11 so it is £55 per direction. The rate does not change over the year although getting bookings in high season might be difficult. To pay the supplement you give the SAME card number as you used to book the original payment. When you book the trip to the call centre.
If you are using a mobile phone to speak to the use this number 01303 282061 it will save you phone company charging for the 0300 number as out of package charge.

Thanks Gway for clarifying that.

Looking at the T & C's it looks as though you are able to register a second credit/debit card for you travel partner which you do at the time of purchasing the frequent traveller ticket (within 48 hours)

not long enough
just before you commit to the booking, the day you pay becomes the last of travel next year, that's is you must return on your last trip or by the same day next year

So if you can hold off till nearer the travel date, only a small risk of no vacancy, you will have a better chance of an extra trip this time next year :)(y)

That's 1350 ex Calais, so off peak - no supplement. Same for your return leg ex Folkestone, 1720 is in the off peak period.

FWIW I used to do frequent traveler trips from Calais 2/3 times a month, all year round, normally the last crossing before 2pm local cut off, and I don;t recall ever having a problem getting a booking.

In my excitement to get this booked, I've done it the wrong way around

In my defence I'm pretty sure in the past, if you attempted to depart from Calais, haven given your country of origin as the UK, you got a warning message,

this didn't happen.

The site advised that you are not able to change the direction of travel, you have to rebook, then contact them, and they will cancel the original booking.

That's all fine but the system doesn't allow you to do that if you already have a booking within 4 hours !

So you have to book a slot more than 4 hours away from your original time, wait for them to cancel your booking, and then try to amend your booking to an earlier time.

Sure it was my fault, but that does seem a little convoluted.

Let's see how well they respond to emails

Good job for this thread then and @klaatu
for bringing it to your attention.

We've found them very good for changes, cancellations etc. Good luck.

You can travel at other times if you pay the supplements. cheapest is to travel after 4pm from UK and return before 2pm from France. Works out at £110 return per crossing.

YES, you will not get passed the booths without paying up to another £30- in peak times must be before shutoff time. It will tell you only when you get there and it might be a nasty surprise, if you are early the same applies but you can wait a bit for the proper time for nothing
