Hi Peter

We used this last year.

If you use campercontact just put in El Saler, it's a camperstop as opposed to a site as such but it has a bus to Valencia stops just outside and you can cycle out the the rice fields.

I have found this camper site on CamperContact:

We stayed at camper stop Valencia , only a 2 min walk to the train into the city. Great little restaurant and spotless toilet block.

Stayed at the same in november.
Ideal for a visit to the city.
We stayed to watch the sun go down on the impressive modern architecture of the exhibition centres.
It was interesting trying to find the right stop for the site in the dark! Fortunately the bus driver found it after I pressed the button after three wrong roundabouts.

Reviews don't look too great. There's a site at Navajas, Camping Altamira, (ACSI), great walks nearby, train to Valencia, lovely cycle up the Via Verde as far as you like and downhill all the way back.

It is indeed a nice site, we used camping cheques there. But it is not ideal for a large motorhome as a lot of the pitches have steel cages over for shade in the summer and a lot of them are quite short as well.

Stayed in the Valencia camperpark twice last year. Very convenient for visiting the town. The staff were more than helpful. The paella in the restaurant was excellent but you need to book it in the morning for the evening meal. We were there when it was hot and we were grateful for the swimming pool. The price is very reasonable. Would highly recommend it.

Thanks all for the suggestions. Votes seemed pretty evenly split and we plumped for the Valencia Camper Park....we are now parked in the 'aire' section just outside the gate and tucking in to the vin blanc. Very friendly reception and v. reasonable at 10 euros a night with wifi (no elec. outside but we cook on gas so that's OK).

We are going to Valencia camper park next week. Plan on going into the town/ city on the metro. Want to see the old and the modern bit is this easy enough.

We've never used the metro as we always use the motorbike but everyone we've spoken to has said its dead easy.
Nice town Valencia lots of nice little shady squares with bars and cafes and a couple of good markets.

Thinking of a couple of days early December to visit Valencia and maybe do a bike tour. Anyone done that?
Some of the local sites get some terrible reviews, but ValenciaCamperPark comes out quite well. Although maybe too far to cycle in - but I believe you can take your bike on the Metro. Any comments on the campsite or cycling? Thanks. Graham

Is it still raining there? Sunny here in Totana atm. If you can get on the Via Verde (cycle route) it's worth it. Cycle north to Jerica (the route is diverted here onto minor roads) and have a wander along the walkway next to the river and across from the climbing area. Spent a good few hours on there in the past!

Hi
We are due to arrive at Almera around 6th December and plan to stay for 30 nights. Two motorhomes with three dogs between us.
Our MH is 7.2 m long plus 1m cycle rack.
From what you see will we fit the pitch? Also is 6amp enough power and lastly is it good for walking, running and cycling with our dogs?
Thanks, Ed

Hi, site is superb for walking, cycling or running.
6amp is more than enough for us as van is set up to run on 12v.
So fridge, lights and charging tablets, phones and laptops is all we use.
Vans will fit no problem and there are dogs on site.

We stayed there in Feb 2014, and the fabulous Rocio on reception got a bono for us for the train to Valencia (10 tickets for €15, which made them half price).
She told us that you could take folding bikes on the train at any time (so we took ours), but could only take full sized ones on Sundays. Some friends we met there hired some bikes in Valencia, so were able to cycle with us.
Bear in mind that this was nearly 3 years ago, so they may have changed the rules (and the prices) by now.

Thanks, Cervantes. The Camper Park emailed me about the bikes, just as you say, and there's info on the Metro website as well. Had a look at your blog too, the section on Valencia. Some good photos and info. That market look fantastic.

We stayed on Valencia camper park in Febuary. It's a great site, really friendly peaple. The metro is just down the road for Valencia and Valencia is a beautiful city, the market is a must see, some fantastic buildings, old, Art Deco, modern etc. We saw peaple get on metro with bikes. Wood fired piella at the site is great.
