the teeth on the ratchet [?] that lifts the step on my A class hymer have become damaged so I ordered a new one , and the wrong one came ; dealer says I don't have a hymer mechanism , the step must have been changed , and he doesn't know who made the system currently fitted

can anyone identify the manufacturer of the system I have ?

as you can see the piece I have is much larger than the original hymer design

anyone want to buy a genuine hymer supplied spare part ?

That's a quadrant gear just so people know what you are talking about. A ratchet has teeth that are more like a saw tooth. You can best describe it as the distance between 2 teeth ( pitch ), the radius, the number of teeth or angle of the whole quadrant and thickness of the plate.

If you cant find out what make it is, any half decent engineering workshop should be able to make you one.

Might be an early AVS step. They are based in Whitchurch Shropshire, just google 'AVS steps'.
