Hi all, we are just back from our very first trip in "the rustbucket" - not our choice of name - the children picked it - something to do with the RV in Ben 10 !!!!

We had a wonderful time - she did us very proud and we are already planning our next trip.

However for our Summer venture we are thinking about taking the trip from Scotland, down to Legoland - has anyone done this and can recommend a site near the park. Also we are hoping to split the journey from Perth down to Windsor and would love to hear from anyone else who has done this and advise a good midway point to stop.

Trish - a very happy "motorhome" camper

We did Legoland last year.

We stayed at a CCC site in Chertsey. Whilst it was not the cheapest it was a really nice site and handy for Legoland.

We opted to take the MH to Legoland and there are bays for MH/ Buses right near the entrance (follow the signs). We left not long before the park shut for the evening and how glad were we that we had the MH. Whist everyone was queing in cars waiting to leave we sat and had tea. Took a good hour and a half for the car parks to clear.

We also planned to do Chessington during the same week, but the park was closed the day we had booked, as they were having power issues.

Good luck with the trip. :thumb:

Amerden Camping and caravan park ( Maidenhead ) is the nearest to Legoland but is only
grass pitches and fairly basic.

Hurley Riverside Park is the next nearest and great for kids being right on the River Thames

The caravan club site at Henley on Thames is good and not far from Legoland. It also has the advantage of being within walking distance of Henley.
