I know loads of you guys are there at the moment and doubtlessly really enjoying yourself, but has anyone been just for the day? I went this morning, and wow! What a complete waste of time. Got there at 9.45, the car park was empty so parked in the nearest spot to the entrance. Was a bit surprised to see no direction signs to the show on the roads and only one sign near the way in, and even more surprised to find hardly anyone in the place. Looking at the exhibits on show soon explained the dearth of punters. Pretty pathetic really. Just a few vans and a few stalls. Despite chatting to as many salesmen as possible and discussing the change in UK law relating to electric cycles with throttle controls with Peter from A S Bikes we were back in the car after an hour and a quarter. Got home two and a quarter hours after leaving after breakfast for what we thought would be most of the day. Thank god I got the tickets cheap! Am I being too critical? I would add that when we left there were probably only 20 cars in the car park so it hadn't filled up.

I don't think the "Show" is the main reason Funsters go there!

The main reason is the Fun they have meeting up, strolling into Stratford, socialising into the evening etc.

It reminds me of schools where they had borders and day boys... the borders had all the fun!

JJ has got it spot on. The show itself has been going steadily downhill for the past few years. On the other hand the Funsters meet has got better and better.

It wasn't exactly huge the only time we went in 2009, or was it 10? LOL

Unfortunately a lot of the time when we were there, it went really cold in the evening so the marquee was jam packed out and not actually that conducive to getting to know a lot of people. And feeble as it sounds (!) we're not very big drinkers so we'd take a cup of coffee, chat a bit to whoever was gathered outside and then go back to the van to get warm again.

Today, here, a few miles away it was nice a warm yesterday and today it's been warm enough - but it rained on and off all afternoon - and came down in absolute STAIR RODS some of the time! Ladies tennis at Edgbaston was rained off ........ hope it gets better for them cos Stratford's lovely to walk to and meander round.

Agree with all as above. The show itself it not worth the trip but for us here camping it has been a great week. Saturday just happened to get the worst weather, anyone at home that was thinking of coming may well have changed their minds when they saw the forecast.

If I had gone as a day visitor I would have asked for my money back, the show was a waste of time, I hope that the Stafford one is better next week.

Last year was their first one..
Not that busy but I would say maybe a bit more than Stratford. If it's rubbish we can all meet at @Gromett van and drink his beer... (y);)

The problem may be weather, local forecast on the TV is rain for Friday,, :(

I call the Stratford week the Stratford Rally not the Stratford Show. The show itself is crap but the rally is brilliant. We even had a full size marque this year(y)

Beer at my van . There is barely room in the van for me :LOL::LOL:

It is not the van they are after it is your Booze, stand at the door and throw bottles to repel boarders.

Ho the REAL reason is they all get totally canned and then sing badly, so badly the people in the town houses the other side demand the plug is pulled out. Then they come passed me in my van still singing badly. It is call the Funsters after all. pity I do not drink.
