Having hopefully sold the house - I dont want to buy another one but my wife doesnt want to spend all her time in MH

We re wondering wether house sitting for a few weeks at a time would be a good half way . There are several websites where people advertise for someone to look after their places in France Spain etc for a few days to a few months, cut the grass walk the dogs etc. has anyone got any experience to share?

Thanks @Sue

have seen that but doesnt seem to be anyone on there with experience yet. So hoping to cast the net a bit wider.

I probably should post it in both.

What are your concern's? Would think its pretty straightforward as long as both party's happy with each other...

We are on the list as wanted someone to look after our young cats for a month this summer.. Probably would have worked if we did not have a london postcode as some with older vans can't come into area:(

It's a learning curve
Hi Jon, we had a house/pet sitter when in France and we wanted to go on holiday. It was great for us. The house was looked after by a lovely lady and the dogs didn't need to go into kennels. (And she got to stay somewhere new for free) it was a win-win. Many of our friends and acquaintances over there have used sitters for years with great success. (Mh's included)Some sitters charge, although most don't as they are staying somewhere for free. Some home owners leave the sitter the use of a car. If you are happy to look after pets, mostly dogs and cats, there are plenty of places advertised. You will have to register and pay a small fee on the most popular sites, write a resume, post a nice picture and ask people to say good things about you are all helpful.

We've done 2 house/pet sits this year but I don't think our experience would help you - both were in the UK, one was a Funster (so not a stranger even though we'd never met!) and the other a relative. Also in both cases we were living in the moho so although we had access to the houses and gardens, this may not suit your wife.
Having said that, we had a great time in both settings (y)

We've done two house sits in Greece. Not with our Motorhome. The first we looked after a feisty cat for 14 weeks and the other we looked after a rather old dog for 3 weeks. Both houses were down pretty rough tracks that we couldn't even get our hire car down never mind a motorhome. Also looking after an animal is a responsibility. Especially as they are so loved that people are prepared to let strangers have the free run of their home to take care of them.
