Hi, I have a ferry from Calais to Dover at 4.30 on Monday morning, is there any hassle there at the moment? Am I better arriving at the port through the town? Other half getting a bit twitchy lol

I retuned back home yesterday after 12 days with no problems whatsoever- a slight delay getting through English customs at Calais sailed through French customs - enjoy, and don't worry !
Cheers Keith.

Came back via eurotunnel Wednesday, all quiet. Spent the night before at the Calais aire, all quiet there too , building work underway though.

We came back via the tunnel last Saturday and there was no hassle whatsoever, even from the security who did nothing but wave us through. They didn't even ask to check if our gas was off, which of course it was!:(

Perhaps the French authorities have this under control at long last. Oddly enough, we have never experienced any difficulties using Dover-Calais and on our last trip the Jungle had been substantially reduced. Perhaps one of the many benefits of Brexit, although this has probably had no immediate impact on the security arrangements at Calais.

No problems using Calais over the last 5 years and around 20 trips. Used the Aires by the port and the Yacht Basin as well as Citi Europe.

One thing is for sure, those intent will not have stopped trying, they will have found another method. Given the absence of coastline and small port security in any meaningful presence around our shores, and the better sea conditions, they are probably coming in that way. Autumn/winter storms may see a return to previous habits. There's lots of money to be made getting them here, someone will be making it.
