Hello All,
Newbies here, new to the forum but not to campers. In our early 50's with eye on retirement and more/longer trips. We like to move around when we travel, like the remote places, staying on small sites for one or two days with the occasional wild camp thrown in.
Our first PVC was UK VW transporter, fairly basic and after 10 years we decided to switch for more facilities. So three years ago we swapped to a top of the range PVC on a Ducato, brand spanker costing a small fortune. Didn't work well for us, lots of problems due to poor quality workmanship requiring repeated returns for repairs. We ended up not able to trust the van, so sold it recently and now van- less whilst we research.
We're wondering about VW California's, shame they don't do long wheelbase. Wondering if anyone has spent 4 weeks living in one. We're thinking the compromises with the smaller van are preferable to the problems we experienced with the last conversion.
