We are often told, in threads, that servicing of fridges and other appliances are not included in habitation services. If you go to a decent engineer, though, the appliances will be checked to see if a service is required.

As far as we know/remember, the gas appliances in our van were serviced when we bought it four years ago. It has had a habitation service each year and the appliances have been fine until this year when we were advised that the fridge needed looking at because there was a soot build up starting to show.

We now have a new burner installed to replace the clogged and corroded old one (which was shown to us) and the peace of mind of knowing that it will be OK - as opposed to the experiences of more than one person we've known who suddenly found a problem in the middle of a holiday.

That's convinced me to have mine checked! MoHo is 12 years old and whilst the dealer (Dolphin MH Southampton) did a hab service when we bought it last August there is no indication if or when the gas appliances have ever been serviced.
