Another 'Fridge not working on Gas' thread (1 Viewer)

My Dometic 8 series fridge won't run on gas (fine on 240 & 12)
I can't hear the igniter working so jet won't light - haven't tried to light it manually
Any ideas to try this weekend?

Air in the Gas line?
On my Rapido you have to let the air out when you turn the gas back on if its been off for a while

I have an old van - fridge is manual selection, manual ignition.
Twice I have received the advice of lighting the hob, apparently something to do with drawing the gas through the lines.
Seems to work for me, perhaps try it?
Shouldn't need to but if it works?

Excuse me everyone but the igniter is not working so why are you looking at purging the gas line?
Normally the igniter will work and light the gas if there is some there or not if there isn't

Fridge is AES
Gas solenoid isn't operating either, don't know if it will without igniter 'sparking'

The gas function of the fridge operates in the order: gas valve opens, igniter fires. If the igniter isn't firing and the gas valve isn't operating then there is an issue with the control circuitry, either in the wiring to valve/igniter or in the main PCB. I'd suggest you get it checked by a competent service engineer.

Similar happened to my 7 series fridge freezer quite recently...igniter clicking away but no flame. After cleaning jet, flue, burner it was still not igniting. I 'tapped' the gas valve with a heavy spanner.....cured! The valve had stuck thereby not allowing any gas through, and I'd been using the van only a few days before. That was a month ago and all has been ok since.

Had the bus at home this weekend to prep it befor going to Glastonbury on Thurs for 5 nights
Thought I'd try the fridge and Sod's law it worked on gas and the subsequent 6 times I tried it. Tried waggling wires etc, but no failure.
Will try it again whilst away
