Yep not a problem, in the wrist with mine. Fantastic to watch! I then had a stress MIR which was worse as that was so claustrophobic. Found a narrowing but treating with medication at the moment. Fantastic people at Wonford Exeter.
Ever seen inside one ?
I would be more concern about something coming loose rather than claustrophobia.

I had an angioplasty 25 years ago in St Thomas's London I was a newly qualified Commercial pilot. I used to go running and one day I could go up the hill the next I couldn't walk up it and after a couple more I couldn't walk across the room. I was told it wa all in the mind as I was TOO FIT. However they went in and cleared it with an angioplasty which was then one of the first done in this country. It was fine so they promptly lifted my pilots licence as it was unknown treatments then. I had no licence and no job. Off to University to do Radiography which I did and ended up doing Angios. as well as ordinary radiography. Retired two years ago and still going but it bars me from C1E at 70 because my GP will not allow it ( he is also a CAA doctor) The procedure is very wide spread no and treats all manner of diseases including high blood pressure from Kidney stenosis and even big ones like Aortic Aneurysms with special long dacron grafts to stop the leaks into the pelvis and death. Very interesting career but I still wanted to fly for a living.

This time last year I was only 8 weeks out from a heart bypass and was already "throwing some shapes" at Canopus soul meet... !!
One year on and it seems so far away. Makes you appreciate "the fun" even more..

My husband had one done last year. They fitted the stent via his wrist and it's made a huge difference to him - we now realise how ill he was.
Same for my husband, he had his done a couple of years ago.
Hope it all goes well

After my French trip of 18 hours I have been put in for an angiogram again, then if it warrants it another angioplasty after. At least I am in the new financial year so at least get looked at before they run out of money again.

Piece of wee wee, 4 stents a couple of years ago.
Went in through the wrist, surgeon chatted about his recent exploits while I watched the screen. Brills.
Minor hiccup though.
After the procedure I went for a pee whilst wearing that smock thing, (couldn't see percy), as I finished I looked down and there was blood EVERYWHERE, the scream of "oh f**k brought a nurse crashing in to discover the bandage on my wrist where they went in had come off. Nearly gave me a heart attack!

Arterial blood goes a long way.
I had a balloon wristband type gizmo on my wrist.
Pumped it up to about 10psi then release 2psi every 20 minutes....had to remain laid down.
Once it was deflated the artery had sealed and they stuck a tiny round plaster on the puncture wound.
I had to keep an eye on it for a few hours....Just in case.
Still got the little red mark on my wrist after 16 months.

Did not know they pumped it up to 10psi PJ, no wonder it was uncomfortable on my wrist until the pressure was released
Nearly a year till the day I had my 2 stents put in, only just starting to feel better mainly due to the tablets they put you on which is annoying since I felt fine before the heart attack
Can still see the two red marks like yourself, but got to say had a first class service from everyone connected to the NHS and very thankful for everything they done

Update, did not have the stents put in after all, pre-op they gave me blood thinning tablets a week before, went in for the op, laying on trolley ready to be wheeled down to the theatre, surgeon comes to inquire if I was ok, the fact that on the tablets I felt much better surprised him, so after more questions, he decided that I would not benefit from the operation, so I was sent home.
I do still get out of breath easily, I do have 2 small arteries blocked at the back of the heart that they can't fix, but I get bye with limitations.
Bad news is, after answering a lot of questions pre op, I mentioned an incident in Menorca the previous year, when my lips and fingers on my left hand went all tingly, the surgeon thought that I had had a mini stroke, not what I wanted to hear, my own doctor never said anything when I told him, so l'm concerned that
I may be getting ready for a biggie at some point, l will quiz my doctor when
I see him next. There's always something!.

That's mixed news. Presumably you are on various meds but is there also advice on diet?

Yes I'm on 6 different tablets a day now, I will question the doctor on my next appointment tomorrow, my family have a history of strokes, blood clots and brain tumours, fingers crossed.

Just a follow up ,In my earlier post i pointed out i had a stent which was five years ago now and i have ups and downs but generally fine .Just recently had to referred to a specialist regards some shrapnel bone in my knee which at times is causing a great deal of pain and stopping myself walking any distance .I so the specialist last week ,I was told after looking at the scan ,he thought surgery would solve the problem ,Then he told me but i cannot do the operation as the (HIS WORDS)anaesthetic will kill you due to having a stent which during surgery will block up and you will die ,he repeated this a number of time and suggested at my age i should just sit and watch the TV. Has anyone any information on this subject ,i am aware there is an element of truth in this statement as there is always a risk in surgery but what are the alternatives.

Family history is something you can't do much about sadly. High blood pressure and resultant strokes are very common on my mother's side of the family. Cancer, other than smoking related, seems rare on both sides of the family but that might be because few lived long enough to develop the common forms. :(

I had an angiogram - catheter via the wrist to the coronary arteries. Not feasible to have an angioplasty (stents) so had a triple coronary bypass graft 4 years ago. All went well and back to kayaking, windsurfing and our motorhome trips.
The key is to stay positive and, if available, sign up for the NHS cardiac rehab (usually 6 week programme). I would say that as I'm a Physiotherapist.
All the very best to you.

Your right the Cardic rehab was excellent for me it gives you confidence about what you can do in the early stages and the advice was very helpful
Another thumbs up for the NHS

I had minor surgery, which involved a general anaesthetic, after the second lot of stents. no concerns expressed by the surgeons or anaesthetist as far as I am aware.

I had an angiogram 4 years ago, nothing to worry about, they go in through your groin, you will have to shave off half of your pubes, because they go in 2 inches from your old chap, they put a disolving cork in the wound, just go steady for a few days. Unfortunately they could not stent me , so a triple bypass was required. All done 4monts later, living life to the full now, never felt better

Same as Steve but had angiogram via my wrist but also needed a triple bypass which occurred 3 years ago plus a tumour removed from my lung at the same time.. like Steve living the life and off to Europe for a month in a couple of weeks. Bypass took me back 10 years in mobility and physical ability.
