Anger over motor home owners who dump their 'effluence' on the Burnham Explanade (2 Viewers)

Payment for parking on the Esplanade only applies (allied to a maximum waiting time of 4 hours) during the hours of 9am to 6pm on each day from 1st April to 30th September inclusive (i.e. no overnight restriction at any time of the year). It is people parking legally without payment outside those hours that Councillor Parkin is objecting to.

theres huge car park 150 yards up road with designated mh slots still got to pay.

The problem is that there is an order preventing overnight parking on these bays whereas you can park quite legally on the esplanade.

I've seen lots of motorhomes parked overnight, both on the Esplanade and in the motorhome bays in the car park.
I haven't ever seen any rubbish dumped, though, and certainly no black waste.
Sounds like another self-important, self- serving busybody to me

The problem is that unless people like her are made to be honest with their "observations" irreparable damage is caused ...

From her comments about leaving her role it sounds like she was under a great deal of stress & not coping well so possibly made up or at least foolishly exaggerated her comments about motorhomers. Probably best for her that she is to step down for her own wellbeing as well as for the interests of those she represents. Don't think motorhomers will be put off from visiting Burnham as it has Highbridge Caravans just down the road which many travel for.

It's not the first time she's been quoted having a go at motorhomers - it also happened 3 years ago.
She's also had a go a those with motorbikes, scooters and a food fair.

I think she needs to find a new hobby.

Well I think she may have got rid of us offending motorhomers, I just had a look at the Burnham on Sea webcam and there isn't a motorhome in sight LOL.
