OK so the exchange rate is pants at this moment but I have doodled with the idea of perhaps shipping my panel van to the USA and touring for a year (2010) with the lady wife. Has anyone done this recently and know of a shipping company who will provide advice of costs etc. Any pitfalls will be appreciated Many thanks GWR

Hi Geoff

Ive thought of this many a time but never got around to researching it. Most people hire their rv in the states. Cruise America do a deal whereby you buy the rv and they gaurantee a buy back when you have finished with it.

I have also thought of doing an rv swap with somebody in the states. A bit like a house swap.

It will be interesting to see how your post goes.
