Oh yes I am!! My membership fee is now fully redeemed... courtesy of Ash, and Alan at DMS (Direct Motor Services).
I dragged myself and my dear old Dad to Newark for my first rally... in my recently acquired motorhome. This was to be my first time without hook-up, so I was a little apprehensive.
All started well enough, and The Stig helped me tremendously with a problem with plug sockets (thank you very much!) and we settled down to gather our thoughts before the evenings festivities. Dad even had a snooze, and I read a little. It was whilst reading that I noticed that twilight was drawing in.... INSIDE THE VAN !! I know I'm a newbie, but even I recognised that something was amiss!
I recalled seeing that Ash had posted on a thread earlier, so I gave him a call. He was unable to help directly (he has a life too!) but a couple of calls later and Alan appeared on the horizon, offering a cheery rescue. In very short order he diagnosed two duff leisure batteries which he was able to replace immediately. Less than an hour after calling Ash we were in the bar downing a cold one (or two!)
All in all a top result.... a very big THANK YOU to all involved. I'll be visiting Alan tomorrow to get more electrical supplies.
