alpine road and the atlantic road (1 Viewer)

hi guys and dolls.in the final stages of planning a trip to do the grossglockner hochalpenstrasse-the alpine road in austria.then do the atlantic road in norway.so guys and dolls wat would be the best way of doing it.norway first or austria first planning trip for 1st july

we did a car and hotel tour of southern Norway in 2006 and would like to return in van, so I will be (selfishly) watch for the replies on this thread ..

Why go to Austria and Norway in one trip? (unless its a trip of 4 or 5 months!)

We went to Norway last year, did the Atlantic road and all I would say is that whilst the Atlantic Rd is good, there are much better places in Norway, which is generally superb. My advice would be to do the Atlantic Rd by all means, but carry on further north, eg to Lofoten, where there are more spectacular roads. The roads North towards Nordkapp are out of this world in terms of scenery.

We went from Denmark to S Norway, all the way to the top, back through Finland and Sweden to Denmark. Best trip we have ever done.

I would say take longer in Norway and do Austria on a different trip.
