Alpine Electronics has launched its latest DVD / iPod head unit for motorhome and caravan owners looking to recreate the high-end surround sound experience more commonly found in premium quality home entertainment systems. As well as being able to play CD’s, the DIN1 sized DVA-9861Ri fits conveniently in the main dashboard and can playback music and movies stored on DVD format, removing the need for a standalone on-board DVD player.

“The DVA-9861 provides users with a wealth of high-quality media playback options,” explains Graham Johnson, sales & marketing director, Alpine Electronics. “With users becoming more demanding about the systems installed in their vehicles, the new unit meets the needs of these discerning customers and delivers an exceptional entertainment experience.”

Another of the main attractions of the unit is its full speed iPod connection which allows users to control their iPod from the head unit through a single high-speed cable which also ensures the iPod is always fully charged. The quick response and Quick Search feature, which allows users to scroll through playlists, artists and albums while listening to another song, means tracks can be accessed easily, even from long playlists. By providing a fast and convenient iPod connection, the Alpine system removes the need for owners to carry bulky CD’s, freeing up valuable storage space.

As well as playing CD and DVD formats, the DVA-9861Ri can play MP3 and WMA files, giving users a wide choice of usable formats. For added convenience, a remote control is included with the unit so that users can control the system from the comfort of their chair or bed.

Alpine is one of the world’s leading suppliers of premium 12-volt audio and entertainment systems. Its products are fitted as original equipment by prestige vehicle manufacturers including Jaguar, Land Rover, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Honda and Lotus.
