I have been pottering about under the bonnet this morning and while doing a load test on the alternator (unrelated problem) I switched on the wipers amongst lots of other things and made my way to the engine area. The first thing I noticed was a section of loom between the wiper motor and the black cover thingy for plugs/relays etc was moving in time to the wiper linkage.
On closer inspection the end of the linkage at the motor was hooking on to part of the wiring loom and has actually worn through the covering tape and gone through two of the wires outer covers exposing bare wire.
Not sure of potential problems if ignored but thought owners should be aware and have a look.
This would never have been spootted as it is behind the black cover in the centre/rear of the engine compartment and its not often the bonnet is up with the wipers going.
