Posting this just in case.
We had text messages from this mobile number 07932900443

I had listed some dog grooming clippers free to anyone on gumtree.

This number made contact, wanted them said could collect this morning.

Didn't think anything of it so didn't run a check the number.
Texted again at 11:30 on our way can I have the address, text our address back at this point. 10 min later get another text wife thinks this is a scam, we aren't coming.
Me annoyed at waiting in text back, thanks for wasting my time, how is giving something away for free a scam.
Then got abusive texts back.
Peeved off at this point decided to report his number as a timewaster.
Sitting thinking about it more, why use the words wife thinks it a scam, brain goes into overdrive start to google the number.
It links to lots of adverts, cars, boats but more worryingly dogs for sale, in the Leeds Castleford area.

Now concerned it was fishing to mark us for possible dog napping.

So better safe than sorry be aware if advertising anything, esp dog related.

We are based in North Yorkshire, so probably only West, North Yorks area.

Fortunately I used a burner phone number on gumtree, but they do now have our address and know we have at least one dog.

Found a link to a MH on this number too, albeit from last year and an old £4k one.

I've reported it on various sites like above.
More concerned about dog napping now though, especially as a dog was stolen few days ago in Bridlington which is too close for comfort and then listed on Gumtree.
Fortunately they tracked their dog down and got it back.
