I stayed in Montmorillon in 1967 on a school exchange visit. Brings back memories

Not a bad little town for a visit.

Decent views of the river, pleasant to walk around the town and a very good restaurant overlooking the river -
Restaurant Le Roman des Saveurs - good food at reasonable prices - and local beers.

We're off over the Channel in July. Have friends near Poitiers to visit so may try that aire in Montmorillon. Be nice to see it again. I stayed with the headmaster's family at the lycee.
