This aire is no longer free but it is well worth the 7euros it now costs. It now has a barrier which even accepted my travel card (a first in France so far) and issues you with a bar code. There are 27 bays. The price includes water, waste disposal and electricity (as long as you can beat the man with a mile long cable who hogs it for a whole day). The aire is beside a river/canal with lots of lovely walks, outdoor gym equipment, an amazing arboretum and free dog-poo bags!!!!! It's a lovely clean aire with very big spaces (avoid the one by the skateboard park). A van calls in the morning selling baguettes. Really recommend this aire if you're in the area.

All the Aires 2015 version has it in the Poitou region (page 230) we put these co-ordinates into SatNav: N45degrees56.722 W000degrees 32.249.

Sad to see now charging. We used to stop and empty our waste and top up the water here before moving on.
We had a house in St J d'A for a number of years and still go back to see former neighbours and park up in their drive, looking at our old house but didn't want to use the neighbour's water, septic tank etc. so used the aire for that.
Confirm it is a very pleasant aire, if you can make it for 14thJuly they have a firework display on the river in the late evening.
