Arrived here following All the Aires (2016) and Kerlouan 1 takes you to a campsite. The Aire in the book is actually just down the road but there's a sign there saying no vans between 10pm and 6am. The book also gives coordinates for more Aires but the first one has a height barrier. As the road is windy and narrow we went back to an Aire we saw just before aforementioned campsite rather than try to find the others. It has a barrier and we paid 8.20 Euro s and waited for the rain to stop before venturing out. We initially thought it was just another Aire behind sand dunes but were in for a pleasant surprise. After the rain finally stopped we ventured out and found we're on a really interesting bit of coastline. Meneham village is a short walk away. Huge rock formations are everywhere and the beach is beautiful. We think they've restricted motorhome access along this bit of coastline as although it's really quiet now it looks like it is a very popular place in the season. It's well worth a visit.

We were there about three years ago and agree it's a great place to visit.

I don't know if you're on the same Aire as the one we used in the Video below but it is only 50 yards from a superb beach that had virtually no-one on it even in July.

The borne didn't work but there was another borne, and overnight parking, in a large car park in the centre of Kerlouan.

Some of the many rabbits hopping about around the Aire and the old campsite must have finished up as plat de jour.

When we walked towards the Lighthouse there were Motorhomes parked facing the sea in every lay-by – have they been closed to MH?

The other way, towards the Craft centre (?), there were no restrictions on road parking and we thought at the time that it was too easy to park and block roads.

Enjoy your holiday.

Having problems with my phone and getting videos or taking photos but don't think we're on same Aire. This one is up a little road on the left before the Aire in the book. The road goes onto a nice little beach with two large parking areas nearby. This Aire has a barrier and there are hookups available and a laundry. You get a code for the Bourne and you get 10mins water. It looks like the campsite beside us is being developed to static vans. The old Aire is now day parking only but a french van was there overnight, ha, ha. We're beside Meneham village and behind the dunes. The Aire is divided into bays with hedges and is supposed to accommodate 44 vans. That would be a bit of a squeeze! especially while we're here taking up an English sized pitch! Thankfully the sun is out today so we'll be able to explore a bit more and give you some more info but so far all the car parks we've seen have low barriers and the general impression is motorhomes should use the Aire for overnight stops.
