Hi there, does anybody know anything about Aguri satnavs as advertised in the Camping and Caravanning Magazine - they seem good, but does anyone have personal experience of them please?

I have one and can't fault it both in the UK and in France ,in my opinion and I have had both its better than tomtom and garmin . It's updates straight of the internet with no problems at all .

I bought one that was on offer in the same magazine. I opted for the smaller screen and its still very good. Good poi's for campsites.
I would recommend it too.

I would be very interested to know how the Aguri is better than Garmin. The website makes some pretty big claims about specialist software for routing but in my view the software can only route sung the map data information it has. For example, many roads in the uk and Europe do not have their road widths on sat nav maps either Garmin's or or Tomtom's its therefore not possible, whatever the software, to route around them, unless Aguri obtain their maps from some other source which I would think is unlikely. Same goes for bridge heights, if it isn't on the map the sat nav cannot rite round it.

One way this could work is by cresting routes that only use main roads where width and bridge heights is far less likely robe a problem but that might mean a journey of many more miles than necessary.

If there ws some evidence that Aguri are better at routing then I would be thinking about changing to one so I await results with interest.

Marc I am no expert but I can only go off my experience the tom tom fitted to my fiat was used three times and got me lost three time and the map was well out of date and due to me not having a lap top or the knowledge to update it I guess that's how it will stay on the other hand Aguri connects to my wifi at home as soon as I arrive home and it's really simple and fast to download the latest maps I have used it all over the uk and down to the south end of France , never got lost once .The garmin I had fitted to my motorbike was no better than the tomtom (y) imo. I think the wider screen is easier to see on the Aguri than the other two as well .

I can add nothing to what has been said in its favour. Have been using it for two years. No complaints. Roy

I'm afraid you'll have to join so you or I can personal message each other as I won't put any personal details on an open forum.....

The plus side is that you should join anyway as it'll be the best £15 you'll spend this year.

Then we can do business...(y)
