Any tips, help, advice greatly appreciated on driving from Calais to Girona N Spain.
What to avoid, overnight stops etc.
I think it will take me at least two good days driving, but stand to be corrected.
Have 14 days off, want to spend a week in Girona area, then start back.

Shit nav shows going via Paris, been there, and don't want to drive in Paris ever again.
    Thanks in advance.

This is the route I am proposing to take towards the same part of Spain in the near future - http://about-france.com/tourism/routes-through-france.htm
... unless someone knows a better one! I'm expecting to spread it out over 3 days. It purports to use a minimum of toll roads but not to avoid them completely.

Looks good to me; same as route we usually use when we go south for the winter. It's possible to avoid toll roads completely but it depends on how quickly you want/need to go.

But I'd always use the toll avoiding Biarritz, and Irun at the French/Spanish border - it's a nightmare using the 'D' roads.
