Bit of a Newbie only joined this week and have been reading non stop since.
Just sold my caravan today !!!! Yippee
and pick up the 2008 Autotrail 696 SE G next week

I was hoping to update my old tomtom GO 700 but a chap at a company that sells POI bundles said it would cost too much if I wanted him to do it ..I might as well buy a new one....and went on to tell me which to buy the best place to buy one.

Now I have the IQ of a rocking horse..when it comes to computers so he said he would advise me on the Version 1 of the tomtom XXL and he could add any POIs I wanted to it .

So Can you tell me what I should add.and where he can download them from.

I an new here..............will want to tour in the uk
and in Europe.........Mainly western Europe.

If I listen to you folks I am also going to Wild CAmp some of the time

So is it possible to get All this stuff.....Aires in France...german Stellplatz
Then wild camping in a POI form he can then put onto the tomtom

And is this a good idea? Sounds like it to me .
This tomtom can also take long/lat references as well

Am I asking for the impossible here ?

thanks

First thing is you should find it reasonably easy to add POIs yourself rather than pay someone. There are step by step instructions for TomTom Here.

You can find quite a few POIs through the TomTom Home software and plenty to download in the Link Removed plus Here and my own Parking POIs Here.

No doubt others will be along with more suggestions.

Im not sure if this link will work but its from the "Daddy" of motorhome parking spots Camping Car Infos.

Its a French site and has over 12000 Aires, Stellplatz and wild camping spots all over Europe. http://www.microsofttranslator.com/...pingcar-infos.com/Francais/telechargement.php

If your going to go wildcamping in the UK it might well be worth joining the wildcamping forum. Ill probably be in trouble for promoting it but just google wildcamping to find it. It's £15 a year and for that you get a massive database which you can download into Google Earth and your sat nav of all the known wild camping spots in the UK.
