Some interesting advice, "always let your battery's run flat, before recharging,or you will shorten your battery life?"
Have I missed something?
(Under the heading - summer sun and solar panels, about the fifth paragraph?)
I should also say that this is an insurance company, that i rate highly.

Bizarre - I think that's lithium batteries and the memory effect, not lead acid or gel. Sounds a recipe for wrecking them. (n) :(

Not even lithium - it was NiCad in particular and to some extent NiMH. Li-ion unaffected.

Tony is correct. If you let a Li Ion or Lead acid discharge too much you will damage them and shorten their useful life. Nicads had what is called the memory effect and did need to be discharged to maintain their capacity. Do NOT do this with lead or Lithium batteries.
