Just been looking on their website. Can anyone recommend?
Do you need a german address or is there another way to join? Are you covered in the UK too?

Join by telephone and pay by card, get membership partner plus which will cover you and your spouse in any vehicle that you are travelling in. If you breakdown in the UK then the AA will turn up. Well worth joining.

So they don't ask you on phone for a german address? What is the reason to get partner plus? If I got a single would that mean in the event of a breakdown they would only return the one person to UK?

You use your UK address, partner plus covers both you and your spouse ( if you have one), in any vehicle that either of you are travelling in, this could be any car or motor home that you own or any that you are travelling in.
You both have a membership card to carry around. If you need to cover yourself then just get membership plus.

The ADAC membership covers the person and not a specific vehicle and so you are covered for any vehicle you are driving. Single membership covers you driving, "partner plus" covers the named driver for any vehicle so great for partners where both drive both together and separately.

on 0049221472747

No you don't need a German address.
Ring above number & ask for an English speaker.
Haben Sie ein englischer Sprecher bitte?
I've got partner plus which means both wife & i have cover for any vehicle we are in. Don't actually have to be driving it either.
109€
Think the partner for one person is 89€ ?

We have Used for last 8 years, called out once when husband put wrong fuel in my car, called Germany very good response from them, they called back with eta for AA attendance, recovery to local garage or home, this carried and completed, Wrong fuel not covered so AA offered there fuel recovery service cost approx £200 we were the 5th call by the engineer that day,we have only had diesel cars for over 8 years why did he put petrol in mine, renewal is always sent out as a reminder in German ! for you to contact and pay,via post phone or bank transfer (charge by bank for transfer) so card payment the best way to go,also they cover MH over 3500kg for recovery unlike AA.

On & off, since 1966 - fulltime since 2005
Adac covers misfuelling to £250 - it's the AA who put obstacles in the way... I found this out a few years back when visiting the UK - filled with unleaded. Adac organised help, kept in touch, but AA, when they EVENTUALLY turned up, said it was 'own fault, not covered'. It was only many months later while I was chatting with Adac while renewing membership that I found out I was covered. If I'd read through everything at the start I would have questioned the AA - they were applying their own rules.

I'm a newbie and always will be. You never know it all.
Could someone just verify that m/hs over 3.5 tonne are covered? Have just been reading one of the translation documents on one of the other ADAC threads and it mentions something about a maximum weight of 3.5 tonne.

Thanks

Based on the design and the facilities for the transport of passengers, the vehicle
must not have more than 9 seats (including the driver's seat) and must not
exceed
a total width of 2.55m, length of 10m, height of 3.00m and maximum
gross weight of 3,500kg. All measurements indicated also refer to the vehicle
trailer
including load. The trailer must not have more than one axle. Axles spaced
less than 1.00m from one another are considered one axle. Motorhomes shall be
covered regardless of vehicle measurements. The following benefits shall not be
available, if the vehicle is over 3.20m high (load included) and the vehicle gross
weight exceeds 7,500kg: Off-road recovery (§16), vehicle recovery (§20), pick-up
service (§21) and if the car is a total loss, transport from the place of the incident
to the storage site and from the storage site to the scrapyard or customs office
(§23 No. 2).

Have just phoned ADAC on 0049221472747 and asked the question about M/H cover and was told yes they are covered up to 7.5 tonnes (as listed above) .

So those of us with small/medium gin palaces are covered.

Can someone tell me which countries are covered and also if recovery included. Thanks
I pay mega bucks for RAC breakdown mainly for our older cars, but breakdown is included with the insurance of our classic cars on our new policies so this ADAC sounds a good way to go.

More than toes wet now!
I see from the pictures in your post there appears to be an English version of the ADAC site?
Our breakdown cover needs renewed and given all the positive comments on this and other threads they seem like a good option.
Can you tell this numpty how to access the English version of the site. Looked all over the place but .................
