ACSI or Camping Cheques (1 Viewer)

We are heading for Spain, mid March next year for 6 weeks. We intend to travel directly from Santander to Costa del Sol then meander back through eastern Spain en route to France.

It is quite a few years since we last did the trip so the question is :- which is best for low season Spain, ACSI or Camping Cheques?

We get camping cheques as birthday ,Christmas ,presents and we buy the acsi book so get the best of both worlds

Hope you don't mind Maison, it's a bit of a hijack I know, but as beginners - we don't even understand this question! Could somebody please explain - words of max 1 syllable - what these 2 things are? What differences? Pros & cons in general?

Association of camp sites international "ACSI" is a club worth every penny. It cost about £16 from vicarious books and you get an out of season low rate to stay on any ACSI members site all over Europe.
Camping cheques are pre paid campsite payments and both systems work well.

Huh, we used ACSI just once years ago at the very end of March. When we went to pay, no discount as the discount didn't START until 01 April on that site - which was empty anyway!

In the interim we were both at work so taking hols more in the summer months, so we didn't bother getting it, but we've bought the 2015 as we're both now retired and might get more use - we'll see.

ACSI for me every time as we nearly always travel out of season plus I'm not keen on paying upfront so we dont buy camping cheques.

Don't overlook the ACSI DVD if you have a windows laptop, a real bargain planner with all of EU maps and tens of thousands of campsite - this does not have the discount card, you need to buy that as well.

Now available as an app but I doubt this is as good as the DVD on a big laptop screen. Maybe OK on a 10" tablet.

You're right we have the dvd loaded on the laptop brilliant for planning. Don't need to buy it every year mines 3 years old now and still okay might get a new one at 5 years.

We always keep some cheques on our Gold Card,,easy to top up on line or by telephone whilst away if we need more. Also use ACSI . Both very useful, would not be without either. BUSBY.
