We will be in Spain and France from mid April to mid September, hoping to use aries mostly with some time on campsites if they are cheap enough, is it worth getting an ACSI card as they are not valid in July and August ?

Always been sceptical about this, but the books you get are worth almost the cost with all the sites in , we had it last year and only used three nights at the sites but saved lots more than the cost.

If you like sites occasionally probably worth getting if you buy direct it's only about a tenner.
We don't normally bother but as we are doing a 61/2 week trip down to Greece this year I brought one.

Wouldn't bother then, in my opinion, mind you is only a tenner, not a lot in motorhomeing terms

We went to one site in Italy , and the supposedly reduced price in the book was the price on the sign outside the camp for anyone who just drove up.

With the weeks you've got before and after high season definitely worth getting. Use ours a lot.

As above especially in Spain where one night stops can be very expensive. In France lots of the smaller and municipal sites are quite cheap anyway.

Agree, especially on Spanish sites. We stayed on one for 10 days a few years ago as swmbo liked it so much. Saved a total of €400 just for that site. Would not be without it, you can save the cost in one night on many sites.

Obviously no use if you never stay on sites or only tour at peak times, but we do occasionally, mainly to dry our laundry.

If you want to save a bit more, don't bother with the cc book, it's not very useful for the continent.

Out of season good sites with a nice swimming pools make it well worth the discount for us. Sites not as nice anyway in the main season when they seem just too full.

We used it as a back up when touring through Europe also had the poi files loaded on the satnav so could always find the nearest one to where we were. Over the years it has saved us a lot of money. We now have the app loaded on our hudl so now dont have to bring along the books.

You will be able to use except for high Summer period of your break. But it really depends in your style of camping. Plenty of cheap Aires, municipal campsites in France, Spain more difficult to a degree, but it only takes 2 or 3 nighs to pay for book. So on balance we have it....but if your happy with simple cheap sites there is usually somewhere. high summer is expensive everywhere with the exception of France as the municipals still cheap.....

Been using the ACSI book for the past 7 years now.. Saved us an absolute fortune .. No good for August and late July as mentioned but on the whole it ALWAYS saves considerably more than it cost ( we tried the CC book for one year.. Utter waste of money for us )

Definitely worth it for May,June,September as well as October . We hardly ever stay on other sites when travelling on the continent . We use Aires and Stellplatzes for half the time and ACSI card for the rest .

A definite must have, we saved more than the cost on our first Spanish stopover at Vilanova Park Campsite at beginning of this month. As others the wealth of info and the accurate sat nav co-ordinates justify the low cost.

We have used the ACSI card in August, but you do have to search them out as they all have different months when they accept the card.

It's a no brainer, the savings made on a couple of campsites pays for the book.
