A303 around Mere (1 Viewer)

Is this an annual event?

It's in the news that the A303 around Mere is closed with diversions. At the end of 2008 BelAir (Funster) put up a post about it happening last year.

My question...
We are due to visit our son who lives just west of Warminster. Our usual route is to take the A303 and come off at Mere to drive through Mere and The Deverills to the A350 at Longbridge Deverill. Does anybody know if I can still do that? Or is the A303 closed before the Mere turn-off? I know of other ways to get to Upton Scudamore (we used to live in Warminster) but none of them are as straight forward and convenient.

Any knowledge of this would be gratefully received.

I've asked them for clarification as driving to Shepton Mallet is not my favourite way of reaching Warminster.:Nowink:

Where are you coming from? If from the west you could pick up the A30, travel to Shaftesbury, pick up the A350, go north under the A303 and reach Upton that way.
