Today I went and retrieved two batteries from my boat, to charge them after the winter, even though they turned the outboard engine over well.
There are two batteries in parallel, a 70Ah Varta Vehicle Battery and a "100Ah Leisure Battery". The boat has not been used for 6 months, though the master battery switch has been "off".
Prior to charging them, I checked their voltages - 12.57 v for the Varta and 12.58 v for the Leisure battery. I don't know old the Leisure Battery is - at least five years - but the date on the Varta is December 2003!!
