Wifee really wants an iphone but her contract isnt due for renewal till middle of next year

I have spoken to both Orange & O2 about simply buying an unlocked iphone and putting in her existing simcard but keep getting different advice.

I says the phone will have only limited functionality (no istore was 1 thing mentioned)
where as the other says it will work ok.

Its the latest iphone she wants anyone any experience of doing this.

Incidentily its cheaper over 18 months to actually buy the phone and get a really good deal with airtime etc. :thumb:

Ive had the iphone from when they were first launched,I was told you need the dedicated sim to access all of the functions, you can buy just the sim and have your wifes number moved to the new sim. one thing to be aware of is the iphone contracts give you free data, some of the others dont.

    regards, john

use the sim that comes with it
swap currant payg no to i phone sim
    and keep toping up
after 12mnths it will cost £10
for the interweb functions per mnth
or buy payg i phone and take out 30 day rolling contract
    at£20 a month 600 mins 600texts
web bolt on free with 02
there is a free app to keep aneye on calls and text use

    thats what i did
just incase i changed my mind
and decided i did not like the phone
i was therfore not tied to a contract
i can also sell the phone with a payg sim
and recoup some of the cost
