Motorhoming since 2006, 30 years tent camping in Africa
Hi folks.

My parents want to join us on a trip to the Algarve this year around May. They will fly from South Africa and we'll drive from Calais. So what we're looking for is a camping/motorhome place for our motorhome that also has a cottage or chalet for my folks.

Nothing fancy, just simple and comfortable...but close to the beach.
Anyone have any suggestions?

thanks

You seem to be out of luck.

It should be easy enough, most sites I investigate seem to offer chalets or statics.

You could try Eurocamp and the like, even if they are not open now they will show you sites that offer statics and then you can track down the site's web page.

You might like Pria de Lux just outside Lagos - Turiscampo.

We used it for just that purpose last Feb and it worked well but book direct with the owners for the shed. Half are owned by them and the rest are Thompsons who charge a lot more.

Try camping albufiera, they have statics on site and apartments across the road.Bus stop right outside that takes you into old town and 5 minute walk to beach.
Busy during holidays.

Thanks for the help folks.

Looks like Turiscampo is a good bet. I've been using the Google satellite view to check the sites out and so far Turiscampo looks like it's close enough to the beach to walk/ride and we'll take a toad so I can drive my folks around.

If anyone knows of a place right on the beach with bungalows/chalets please let me know.
