Hi all,I know this is a bit of a stupid question but could anyone tell me a comfortable travel time to allow, without 10 hours driving a day,to get from Calais to Rome.We are tied to a set arrival time in Rome as we have to pick people up at the airport.

The Italian Job this year did:

Calais
Metz
Lucerne
Pechiera del Garda
Florence
[ROME]

You could cut out some corners by missing Garda but it gives you an idea of a reasonable series of hops.

Head towards the coast from Rome for loads of campsites and take the train in.
