Little fellow is still visiting everyday and more so since he noticed my sparrows nibbling dried mealworms. I don't think he knew what they were but he does now
He just sits like this for ages

Started shooting on the farm next to us yesterday. This little chap took refuge in our garden yesterday and spent all day today wandering round with some of his mates.....

Allan
Let's hope they all find their way into your garden….poor things :(

We had about 60 of them in the garden a couple of weeks ago, they were there most of the afternoon, but went away as it got dark.
I keep trying to tempt them back. Luckily, the shooting is only at the weekend. They drive the dogs mad!

Amazing picture Jim.
What was I saying about cheap long zooms and we shouldn't use them. Directly at the sun wide open - wide end All things considered, Not too bad really. I do fancy the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L but I may have to save for quite a while!!!

That reminds me I need to get a line added to my will

Dear executor. When I am dead, please ensure my wife doesn't sell my camera equipment for what I told her I paid for it :)

I've got a EF70-300 somewhere. It's a great little lens.

All of the L series lenses are fantastic bits of kit. I've got a 24-105 f/4L fitted most of the time for general walking around use and it's never failed me yet. That one, coupled with the 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L that I use for rugby means the primes don't get much use. As long as you have IS on longer lenses you can get away with them not being particularly fast.

Good idea about adding a line to the will too. Must do the same ;)
